Moving Day
Last week we moved a family into their own apartment! After welcoming them, orienting them to life in Abbotsford and providing wrap-around care, they now have the key to their own home and a community of friends they can invite over.
We are grateful to Longboard Architectural Products who generously allowed 5 of their staff to volunteer during work time. They moved heavy furniture in the pouring rain! Moving is a tiring process. It means so much to our families when others come and help.
Thanks to your donations of furniture and finances, we are able to set up each family with a fully furnished home.
Be a friend to someone who's lonely
Have you ever moved to an entirely new place? The beginning is hard. You need to find a doctor, dentist, hairstylist and mechanic. Who can you trust? How can you make friends when most people drive into their garage and stay inside? The families we support need encouragement. They crave friends. They want to practice their English and get tips on which grocery store has the best sales.
Be a community bridge builder! No matter your gifts or skills, we need you!

This is a great opportunity for your year end gift!
When a family moves into their own home, there are many more families on the waiting list, hoping and praying to find a safe place to live. Many are in temporary shelters, retraumatized by the fear of being unsafe. With no permanent address it's difficult to build a life here. Turmoil and upheaval keep them awake at night.
Inasmuch has the accommodations, staff and supports ready to receive more families, but we need your help!
Help us welcome new families into our community homes:
$75 covers one semester of ESL instruction; the refugee claimant pays $75 for the 2nd semester
$250 provides a starter kit of essentials for a family
$500 subsidizes rental costs for a month
$1000 provides sheets, pillows, blankets, towels and used beds for a family
Help a family get settled by Christmas!
Donations received by December 31 will be given tax receipts for the 2023 fiscal year.
